CINNAMON

Cinnamon is a product that is made from the inner bark from the genus Cinnamomum and known to be a condiment that brings out aroma.

Cinnamon in Sri Lanka is manufactured and categorized into four major grades: Alba, Continental, Mexican and Hamburg. These grades are based on the diameter of the quill. The most expensive one is the ‘Alba’ grade cinnamon, which is 6 mm in diameter.

Cinnamon is said to be rich in antioxidants and other beneficial compounds. Some research suggests that it may help support blood sugar control, protect against heart disease, and reduce inflammation.

Cinnamon is a spice that has been prized for its medicinal properties for thousands of years.

Winlo Cinnamon Quills

Processed cinnamon quills graded as ‘Alba’ and ‘C4’ are sourced from suppliers.

The quills are cut into 4” and packed into 50g packs, labelled as ‘Alba Grade’ and ‘C4’ grade.

The final product is assured of been a ‘pure product’.

Winlo Cinnamon Powder

Processed cinnamon quills graded as ‘Alba’ and ‘C4’ are sourced from suppliers.

The quills are broken into smaller pieces. The broken pieces are then washed to remove the dust and it’s dried in the ‘Dryer’. The dried cinnamon then goes through a grinding process to make it ‘Cinnamon Powder’.

The final product is assured of quality and due it being processed hygienically and packed as a ‘pure-product’ the quantity that is required to make your curries taste well is less in comparison to what you may have been using until now.

The packing is done as per the grade and marked on the pack as ‘Alba Grade’ and ‘C4’.
